ARC 2009
How many times have you dreamt about sailing across the Atlantic?
Realise your dream this year and sail with us on ARC 2009.
This annual transatlantic rally starting each November in
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has now become the most popular
and exciting way to cross the Atlantic Ocean. It is the largest
transocean sailing event in the world and every year over
200 yachts converge on Las Palmas to be a part of it. The
Caribbean destination is Rodney Bay, St Lucia, one of the
most beautiful Islands on the windward chain. The passage
is 2700 nautical miles, rolling down the North East trades
to the Caribbean!
This year's event will be KA Yacht Charter's seventh ARC, having previously competed in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. All six events were a resounding success with skipper and crew having a fantastic crossing. Just read the testimonials! In 2008 we achieved 3rd place in RORC Racing Division B. For this year’s event we will be competing aboard our fully equipped and competitive Beneteau First 40.7 Distinction ‘Coyote’. We are looking for crew with a sound knowledge of sailing and although racing experience would be an advantage it is by no means essential.
We ask all crew to set aside four weeks for the trip, arriving at the boat in Las Palmas a few days prior to the start for preparation and parties. The race itself will take between sixteen and twenty days, allowing us time at the other end to unwind and enjoy the parties!

Our
ARC 2009 package includes:
- Charter of the boat from 22nd November (start date) - 15th December plus a few extra days prior to the start in Las Palmas at no extra cost.
- Race entry fees.
- Individual crew entry fee.
- Mooring fees.
- All food whilst at sea.
- Crew polo shirt.
Cost £2,495 per person
Price excludes flights, transfers and personal insurance.
