How many times have you dreamt about sailing across the Atlantic? Realise your dream this year and sail with us on ARC 2012.
This annual transatlantic rally starting each November in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has now become the most popular and exciting way to cross the Atlantic Ocean. It is the largest Transocean sailing event in the world and every year over 200 yachts converge on Las Palmas to be a part of it. The Caribbean destination is Rodney Bay, St Lucia, one of the most beautiful Islands on the windward chain. The passage is 2700 nautical miles, rolling down the North East trades to the Caribbean!
This year’s event will be KA Yacht Charter’s tenth ARC in the past 12 years. All nine of the previous events were resounding successes with skippers and crews having fantastic crossings. Just read the testimonials! In 2008 we achieved 3rd place in RORC Racing Division B and in 2009 we beat our personal best time, crossing in just 15 days. For this year’s event we will be competing aboard our fully equipped and competitive Beneteau First 40.7 Distinction ‘Coyote 2’. We are looking for crew with a sound knowledge of sailing and although racing experience would be an advantage it is by no means essential.
We ask all crew to set aside a minimum of three weeks for the trip, arriving at the boat in Las Palmas a few days prior to the start for preparation and parties. The race itself will take between fifteen and twenty days allowing you a few days at the other end to unwind and enjoy the parties!
